Thames Coromandel is a peninsular district situated
between the base of rugged ranges and the sea. Home
to approximately 25,000 people, its close proximity
to Auckland and Hamilton means that of 21,000 properties
over 50% are owned by absentees. The region has
special environmental significance with nearly 400km
coastline and a colonial cultural heritage dating
back to the gold mines of the late 1800s.
