Our Accessibility Policy

At Ecos Corporation, we take accessibility very seriously.

By accessibility, we mean that anyone, including people with disabilities such as vision impairment, can access our website.

We are interested in accessibility firstly for personal reasons: we fundamentally believe that people with disabilities should be given equal opportunity to participate in and contribute to the full range of economic, social, cultural and political activities.

But our responsibility is also legal. In Australia the Disability Discrimination Act 1992  (DDA) is federal legislation that creates new rules for web access. The Act deems websites to be 'goods and services' (see section 24) and should, therefore, be accessible to people with disabilities.

Finally, we wish to ensure accessibility for good business and technical reasons. By developing an accessible site, we know ours will load faster, will be easier to navigate and will be user-friendly.

This site has therefore been designed with accessibility in mind so all of our pages have been approved by an international web-accessibility rating system called Bobby.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions regarding our Accessibility Policy via email  or by calling +61 2 9290 8533.

You can read more about the Disability Discrimination Act at the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission's website. The World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative  (developers of standards for the web) also has lots of good information on accessibility.
